Barbu Drugă Manor is situated in the village Danube port - Cetate, being constructed by Ștefan Barbu Drugă a local landlord. He siezed the opportunity of the site and, in the later decades of the 19th century founded the Danube port to facilitate the exchange of grains from the southwestern Walachia. Together with the port and the manor, the Cetate domain contains also a park, a mill and various other annex building.

The manor was built in 1875, but later, in the beginning of the 20th century,  modified to match the Art Deco style with italienate villas influences. The mansion is surrounded by a large park and relates to it through a series of terraces, on all levels but mostly on the top, where they are covered by reinforced concrete pergolas. The interior space is simple, arranged on ground floor, first floor, an underground level and a top open level. All levels are connected through a central staircase. On the ground floor there are large halls, whereas on the first floor bedrooms with their terraces.

After 1989, the domain was administrated by local authorities, then after 2000, it was reclaimed by the heir to the Drugă family, Joana Grevers, who succeeded in transforming the manor, the park and the port into a cultural venue. Here various cultural activities such as exhibits, artistic events have taken place over the years.
